The Providence Hood & Portland To Coast Relays is the most popular and largest  running and walking relay race in the world, annually drawing participants from over 40 countries and all 50 states. Known as the Mother of All Relays, the event takes 8 to 12 member relay teams 196 miles or 128 miles (from Portland) from the iconic top of Mount Hood to the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. The event has sold-out for 36 straight years and on lottery opening day for 31 consecutive years!

How To Get In to The Mother Of All Relays...

Who needs to submit an application?

The team captain must submit one application on behalf of the the entire team. 

When are lottery applications online?

Registration is live NOW through October 2nd! Register HERE!

How do I complete the application process?

Fill out the lottery application online, print and sign the team application form, then mail in the printed and signed application on  October 2nd, 2024 (not before, not after) to the HTC Office: 7236 SW Durham Road Suite 800, Portland, OR 97224

Do I mail the signed Team Captain application?

Yes, HTC lottery application envelopes should be postmarked on October 2nd, 2024.

What is the entry fee for HTC/PTC?

The entry fee for HTC is $2,483.00 per team and the entry fee for PTC is $1,776.00 per team.

Does the Hood To Coast lottery fill?

Yes, the Hood & Portland To Coast Relay has filled its team limit for the past filled its team limit for the past 36 years and on Opening Lottery Day for 31 consecutive years!

How will I know if I get a team entry?

Teams selected in the lottery are sent a confirmation email within 2-3 weeks of the postmark date. Teams that don’t make it into the lottery will receive an email notifying them in late October, as well as details on how to increase their chances for acceptance into the following year’s event.

What do I do once I am confirmed as selected?

Start inviting teammates to join your team via the Team Clubhouse. Please refer to these important registration deadlines.2,4
