Heros on the Run 5K
Heros on the Run is a dog-friendly 5K that invites runners to hit the course with their canine companions. The route features beautiful views of Portland, including a memorable crossing of the Sellwood Bridge. This feel-good race celebrates dogs as everyday heroes while supporting adoption, with adoptable pups on site. At the finish line, runners are welcomed with food, beverages, music, and plenty of puppies. It’s a fun, community-focused event where paws, people, and purpose come together.

About Street Dog Hero
Street Dog Hero’s mission is to serve dogs in need around the world and their communities through rescue, adoption, wellness, spay/neuter, and education.
THE STREET DOG HERO MISSION
- Rescue: We rescue dogs from around the world and right from our own backyard. We take the most loving dogs from some of the most horrific situations and find them the home they deserve. Their stories are what drive our work forward.
- Clinics: We tackle the overpopulation crisis and the veterinary access issues faced throughout communities by hosting both Local and International Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinics. We focus on areas in the most dire of situations and we provide these services at little to no cost to pet owners and rescue partners.
- Education: We focus on making a lasting impact by educating every community we touch, including our own. By educating today, we will make the world a better place for animals tomorrow.

Yes, all 5K | 10K participants receive a medal. Kids Fun Run participants will receive a bib.
